Who can not remember Arnold Schwarzenegger's well-known line from James Cameron's second leading movie - next merelyto the Titanic - Terminator 2: Judgment Day? It's hokey, it's cheesy, it's timeless.
Certainly, there's more to the Terminator series than marching automatons with human hide shooting their shotguns left and right and giving the most cliched lines possible. After all, the destiny of John Connor - who is the hero of the series, not the Terminator robots - is a miserable one. John Connor is ordained to be one of the several survivors of Earth who will be in the lead a very complicated rebellion in opposition to the automatons. His accomplishment isn't sure, based onthe life span of the Terminator series, yet, his younger self will always be pursued by Terminators sent by the automatons from the future for the only reason that he will be the head of the heroic few who will challenge the upcoming leaders of the humankind.
Whereas the first Terminator flick commenced Arnold's calling as a Hollywood talent even though he portrayed the role of the relentless killing robot, while Terminator 2: Judgment Day portrayed Arnold as the old model nice automaton lauched to guard John Connor from the lates model slayer automaton, and while Terminator 3, labeled as T3, had Arnold returning to guard John Connor from a new woman killer automaton, Terminator 4, labeled Terminator: Salvation, won't present Arnold at all.

Terminator: Salvation is not a remake of the series.
But, it's a continuation of the previous Terminator movies and the happenings of the TV series, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, though the upcoming is altered by supervening events that will also be witnessed in the flick.
Nevertheless, as director McG has said, Terminator: Salvation will act as both a follow-up and a prequel to the former flicks, and can be appreciated separately from the installments that came prior to it. Terminator: Salvation will be about the birth of a hero, as said by the oft frank director. Whether he's pertaining to John Connor or the new Terminator 101 model, we will find out the moment the opening tributes roll.
